The project
How does the entrepreneur's brain work? This is the question asked by Frédéric Ooms, researcher and assistant professor in entrepreneurship at HEC-École de Gestion of the University of Liège, in an original and innovative multidisciplinary study, financed by a First spin-off project of La Wallonie.
A
n important milestone in the study has been reached today: the completion of the first acquisitions of medical imaging data on the brains of some sixty Belgian entrepreneurs and managers. The results will be analyzed over the next few months and, in parallel, the study is continuing by recruiting other volunteers and giving it an international dimension.
This unique research project, carried out in close collaboration with the radiology department of the CHU of Liège, involves many researchers from ULiège, including Professor Bernard Surlemont (HEC Liège), Professor Steven Laureys, an internationally renowned neurologist and director of the Brain Center at the CHU of Liège, and Professor Michel Hansenne from the Faculty of Psychology, Logopedics and Educational Sciences. Over the last few months, teams of international researchers (Penn State University, USA; The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel) and companies have joined the project.
